Barbara Christie
Barbara was born in Bury, Lancashire UK 12/03/1947. She married David Christie on 10/03/1972 in Bury registry office, Lancs UK, and has 2 children, a daughter who lives in Australia with 3 kids, and a son born 1972 who lives near Seattle. She was instrumental in re-establishing contact with the surviving descendants of Alexander Steven Shaw, sending a scoping letter in September 2000. In fact she is not a genetic Shaw, but descended from the Jefferson family of Whitby. She published a book in 1994 called "Sowing the seeds of time" about the Jefferson family, who have marriage connections to the family of Captain James Cook.
She trains and obtained a black belt in the korean martial art
of Jungyae Moosul (which means complete martial art), and at time of writing
is looking to grade for 2nd dan.
