The Shaw/Neubert family trees

John W. Shaw

born c. 1780, died 1838.  He married Jane Norrie in Aberdeen around 1817.

His children included Daniel Shaw, Timothy Shaw, John Shaw 14 September 1817-? and Jane.

There is a suggestion that John W. Shaw moved from England (probably Yorkshire, maybe Staffordshire) to Scotland to build a waterwheel for the wool industry there.  John's widow Jane stayed in Scotland for 22 years after his death, then sailed with her widowed daughter and 2 children to the USA in 1860.  They converted to mormonism in Malta then took a wagon train to Utah and settled as mormons.  Another daughter followed with her husband, leaving a large branch of the Shaw family in Utah.  The whole story has been put on the web in remarkable detail by Dennis Anderson (email: idahokid@pacbell.net) here.
